Throughout our church’s history, God has proven over and over that He has great plans for us to be a gospel light to our area. Many are still yet unreached. Fairhope is in a season of unprecedented growth, and we have a kingdom duty to welcome into our faith family all those whom God is sending to our city. Just as the Lord had placed Esther in a critical place of spiritual influence, we believe that God has put us together as believers “for such a time as this.”
From the beginning, our church’s primary strategy for reaching new people has been Sunday School. Gathering people of every age for the purpose of studying God’s Word and connecting with one another will continue to be central to the way we make disciples. Across the years, FBC has invested significantly in this ministry by providing space for these groups. As our city and church continue to grow, we have another fantastic opportunity for kingdom investment with the addition of a two new buildings that will greatly improve the way we reach preschoolers and children (which will help us reach young families) and that will tie our whole Sunday School together plus some needed renovations.
“For Such a Time as This,” is what we are calling our special emphasis this coming fall in which we will urge every household prayerfully to consider making a sacrificial commitment—over and above your regular tithes and offerings—to be given over the next three years. Where God guides, God provides. It has been clear to our church family for some time now that this building is His will for us, and we are confident He will provide through His people as we seek His face.
We will soon be mailing you an invitation to attend one of the Vision Gatherings. The purpose of these meetings is to share information with you, to answer any questions you might have, and to encourage you to make this a special focus in your daily prayer life. After you receive your invitation, a volunteer from church will contact you to confirm your attendance. Please know that your participation in a Vision Gathering is very important and that no commitments will be taken at these meetings. When you are called, please say yes.
These are exciting days of decision in our church. Let us commit to seek and act in God’s will “for such a time as this.”
Yours in Him,
Pastor Eric Hankins
